Dinner Club 5: Ty Fun Thai Bistro

We started with a spring roll courtesy of Will. It was tasty with the standard sweet and spicy dipping sauce. I have no idea what my main dish was called, but it was a medley of chicken, pork and shrimp in a sweet and sour sauce. Various veggies were mixed in and it came with a heart shaped side of rice and a carrot flower. The flower was delicious! The whole dinner was delicious but not very filling. Quite enjoyable!

Dinner Club 4: Steak On A Stone

Holy shit this place was great. The gimmick is that they bring out your steak raw and you cook it on a ridiculously hot slab of stone right in front of you. You're supposed to cut off a slice at a time and cook it and then eat it right away. They give you two dipping sauces, which is a bit unique for steak and your choice of some standard steak dinner side dishes.

It was fantastic, I'd argue this has been the best Dinner Club yet!

Triv's was an enjoyable if basic dinner. I had a chicken Parmesan style dinner which seemed a bit backwards at a steak joint. They had a grill right in the dining room for cooking up the steaks. The parm-encrusted chicken was delicious and the thin pasta was tossed in a great cheesy-based sauce. Bravo!

This place was ridiculous in the best way possible. Taylor Raine would be happy, this place was a constant train of meat. There's no menu, just stop and go settings. These various servers walk around with huge skewers of meat and go around the table shaving off pieces for you. My only problem with this is that they were too fast. I ended up with a pile of meat that was getting cold and completely forgot what was what. Except the cheese covered steak, that thing was amazing...

Vegetarians, much to their shock, can join in the meal too. For a lesser cost they can skip the meat mountain and just enjoy the appetizer bar. It's a meal on it's own, with fancy appetizers, soups and salads.

Certainly quite the event, this place rocked!

The inaugural Dinner Club!

The star of the evening was the 1/2 price sushi menu. This joint is usually über-expensive, so we took advantage and ordered a shit-ton of different maki rolls and sashimi. The wait was a bit long but understandable on such a night. Everything looked very fancy when it came out on big slabs of marble. I don't remember too many specifics as I'm writing this five months later, but I remember it was dammmn tasty!
